The beater he and his father take home is actually Bumblebee , an alien robot from the planet Cybertron , who plants Sam down in the middle of a civil war between Bumblebee's benevolent Autobot comrades and the evil Decepticons who threaten the galaxy's peace. Both sides are after the AllSpark, a mysterious artifact that landed on Earth ten thousand years ago.

Megatron discovers the AllSpark on Earth , but crash-lands in the Arctic Circle, becoming frozen in the ice. Captain Archibald Witwicky and his crew of explorers stumble upon Megatron's body in the late 19th century. Megatron's navigational system is unintentionally activated, and Archibald's eyeglasses are imprinted with the coordinates to the AllSpark's location. Sector Seven , a secret organization of the United States government, independently discovers the AllSpark and builds the Hoover Dam around it to mask its energy signal.

The still-frozen Megatron is moved into this facility, and is reverse engineered to further advance human technology. In the present day, the other Decepticons — Starscream , Blackout , Scorponok , Frenzy , Barricade , Bonecrusher , and Brawl — have already landed on Earth and assumed the disguise of Earth vehicles. Blackout and Scorponok attack the U. A small group of survivors under Captain William Lennox wander through the desert and are followed by Scorponok.

He finds Sam at a used car lot where the boy is looking to purchase a car. Bumblebee covertly sabotages all of the other cars in the lot, leaving him as Sam's only option.

Sam buys Bumblebee and the two quickly begin to bond as Bumblebee helps Sam try and woo his crush, Mikaela Banes. Sam is unaware of the fact that Bumblebee is an alien, until one night when the Autobot drives off without him. Sam chases Bumblebee on a bike to a factory area, calling the police in the process, and witnesses Bumblebee transform into robot mode and send a signal to the Autobots in space.

The police soon arrive and Sam is arrested. However, Maggie Madsen , one of the technicians studying the Decepticon infiltration signal, detects Frenzy hacking into the files and convinces the Pentagon to take down the Defense Network, halting Frenzy's download. When Air Force One makes an emergency landing, Frenzy slips into Barricade, and discusses his discovery of Archibald Witwicky, who has seen their language.

Using an internet search, they discover that Sam's glasses will lead the Decepticons to the AllSpark. Frenzy and Barricade begin tracking Sam's location. Back in Qatar, the Army Rangers are attacked by Scorponok, and take refuge in a nearby village. Calling the Pentagon and getting air support, they discover that the Decepticons are vulnerable to high heat weaponry such as sabot rounds. Using this information, the soldiers inform the Pentagon that they now have a weapon. Sam, having been bailed out of jail by his father, gets the impression that Bumblebee is stalking him.

A freaked out Sam flees from Bumblebee who is in car mode on his mother's bike. Bumblebee then proceeds to pursue him. Mikaela sees Sam on the run and follows him on her motor scooter. After Sam evades Bumblebee, he is confronted by Barricade who demands Archibald's glasses. Mikaela arrives as Sam is running away from Barricade. Bumblebee, still in car mode, then finds them and has them get in.

Barricade chases Bumblebee to a power plant where Bumblebee transforms and battles the Decepticon robot-to-robot. Meanwhile, Frenzy chases Sam but gets his head decapitated by Mikaela, however his head still functions and takes the form of Mikaela's phone to hide in her purse. Bumblebee, who has defeated Barricade, properly introduces himself to Sam and Mikaela. He then takes them to rendezvous with the rest of the Autobots.

They all meet in a dark, secluded alley, transform in front of the two amazed humans, introduce themselves and tell of the reasons they had to come to Earth to Sam and Mikaela. Meanwhile, Maggie, unable to convince John Keller and his officers of the Decepticon virus's complexity, makes a copy of the intrusion signal and shows it to her friend Glen Whitmann , who discovers a message with the signal about Sector Seven, Captain Witwicky, and Project Iceman.

However, the FBI arrest Glen and Maggie, who desperately tries to convince them not to go to war with the wrong country. Sam, Mikaela, and the Autobots return to Sam's home to retrieve the glasses.

However, agents from Sector Seven arrive to take Sam and Mikaela into custody. As Sam and Mikaela are taken away in one of their vehicles, Seymour Simmons , the agency's director, reveals that Mikaela has a criminal record and threatens Sam with life imprisonment, at which point the Autobots disable the convoy and rescue the teens.

Mikaela then explains to Sam that the only reason she has a record is her refusal to turn her father in for the crimes he committed, prompting her to ask him what he has ever sacrificed in his "perfect little life. However Sam and Mikaela are recaptured and Bumblebee is also captured despite Sam's pleas to let him go. Prime orders the other Autobots to let Bumblebee be taken, unwilling to use deadly force against the humans. At the Pentagon, a virus Frenzy uploaded during the Air Force One hack causes a global communications blackout, while Keller is finally informed of the Transformers by Tom Banachek.

After Bumblebee's capture, Optimus uses the glasses to locate the AllSpark at Hoover Dam, and declares that if they cannot defeat the Decepticons, he will merge the Cube with his spark, even though it will kill him.

Sam explains the Decepticons' plan to use the AllSpark to transform human machines to conquer the universe. Locating the AllSpark, Frenzy regenerates the rest of his body and sends out an alert to Starscream, who mobilizes the rest of the Decepticons.

Bumblebee converts the AllSpark into a smaller state for transportation to Mission City. Frenzy tries to stop them but is killed. As Bumblebee, Sam, Mikeala, and Lennox's unit drive to Mission City, they come in contact with the other Autobots, who join the convoy.

Barricade, Devastator, and Bonecrusher, in vehicle modes, pursue them and Bonecrusher transforms into robot mode. Optimus transforms to stay behind and stop their pursuers. He fights Bonecrusher and eventually kills him. Meanwhile, the rest of the Autobots and the soldiers reach Mission City and come under attack by Starscream, Devastator, Blackout and Megatron. Bumblebee is crippled by Starscream while Jazz is killed by Megatron. Mikaela hijacks a tow truck to carry Bumblebee to safety while Lennox tasks Sam with taking the AllSpark to a building where it will be taken by military helicopters.

Ironhide and Ratchet cover Sam as he makes his run to the building, protecting him from Blackout before being wounded by Starscream, leaving Sam to get to the building on his own. Optimus Prime finally arrives in the area and confronts Megatron. The two battle one-on-one before Megatron knocks Prime out and chases Sam. As Sam gets to the roof of the building and is about to hand the AllSpark off to one of the helicopters, it is shot down by Starscream. Megatron destroys the portion of the roof the Sam is standing after he refuses to hand over the AllSpark.

However, Optimus catches Sam and he and Megatron resume their duel with Megatron once again gaining the upper hand. Meanwhile, Mikaela drives the tow truck in reverse to allow Bumblebee to fire on Devastator, who has Lennox and his men pinned down. Bumblebee kills Devastator and a full air strike is called in on Blackout and Megatron.

As Blackout attempts to assist Megatron, he is killed by Lennox and the Air Force before he can engage. Starscream hides among a raptor squadron, destroying three fighters before being chased away. The Air Force and Lennox's rangers attack Megatron, inflicting serious damage upon him, but he is still functional, and heading toward the Cube.

Finally, with both Prime and Megatron weakened, Prime beckons Sam to shove the AllSpark into his chest, destroying them both, but Sam instead takes the riskier action of shoving the AllSpark into Megatron's chest, destroying it, and killing Megatron instead. Optimus thanks Sam for his courage and for saving his life, while Bumblebee, who has temporarily regained his voice, asks permission to remain with Sam, which is granted.

In an attempt to cover up the existence of the Transformers, Sector Seven is disbanded, while the remains of the Decepticons are cast into the Laurentian Abyss. With no other home to go to, the Autobots decide to stay on Earth, and Optimus sends out a signal across space in an effort to locate any surviving Autobots, while Sam and Mikaela begin a relationship.

Starscream retreats from Earth. Plot summaries and such will reflect whichever name is relevant to that being described. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That was how our race was born. For a time, we lived in harmony, but like all great power, some wanted it for good, others for evil.

As Blackout activated his cannon, he noticed the lasers targeted on him. Underestimating the fighting spirit and desire for vengeance of the humans, Blackout tried to finish them off until Captain Lennox, using an abandoned motorcycle, charged at him and fired a sabot round into his crotch ouch , as Fs pounded the Decepticon with missiles, extinguishing his spark.

Blackout's remains were later dumped in the deepest second deepest part of the ocean—the Laurentian Abyss—along with his fellow dead Decepticons. Blackout had spent thousands of years searching for Megatron and the AllSpark under Starscream aboard the Nemesis.

While Starscream was hoping not to find Megatron, Blackout was working against him in hopes of restoring the former leader. Upon discovering a vessel similar to Megatron's alternate mode , Blackout became convinced that Megatron was nearby. However, the Autobots arrived in the Ark to investigate the ship, and Starscream ordered the Decepticons to wait while he investigated the alien ship. Growing impatient, Blackout convinced Frenzy and Bonecrusher to join him in an attack on the Autobots.

Blackout, Scorponok, and Frenzy ganged up on Optimus Prime , but he managed to defeat them, forcing Blackout to call for a retreat. After Prime headed to investigate Bumblebee 's disappearance, Starscream ordered them to attack, and Bonecrusher was given command. Blackout, however, was able to sneak Scorponok on board the Ark. After Starscream returned, Blackout demanded answers.

Starscream claimed that Prime and Bumblebee were killed by indigenous worms, while the alien ship was destroyed when it fell into a cavern. Blackout, unconvinced, challenged Starscream, but was seriously damaged, and had to be taken back to the Nemesis. However, Prime, Bumblebee, and the ship appeared soon after. When Starscream ordered the Decepticons to destroy the ship, Blackout demanded answers, which Bonecrusher and Barricade agreed to. However, Ratchet was able to force Scorponok off the Ark , and Blackout, still healing, sped to his rescue.

What a pal. Ghosts of Yesterday. In the distant past, Blackout was a member of the Cybertronian Defense Force. During an attack by unknown aliens on the city of Metrotitan , he could be seen picking up a wrecked enemy tank.

Defiance 1 In the aftermath of the attack, Megatron consulted with the mysterious relic dug up near Simfur and essentially declared a military dictatorship over Cybertron.

Blackout followed Megatron and the other flight-capable soldiers into battle, using his special powers to disrupt the enemy flagship's targeting array. Defiance 2. After science division leader Optimus survived an attempted kidnapping by Starscream 's squadron, Megatron declared the scientist and his followers traitors, and reformed the army under a new banner: the Decepticons. Defiance 3. During the subsequent civil war, Blackout fought alongside Megatron, until his master ordered 'this loyal hound' to assist Starscream's unit in keeping Optimus Prime 's forces busy, while Megatron pursued his destiny.

Arriving soon after Brawl delivered news of Megatron's location, Blackout and Starscream witnessed the successful Autobot launch of the AllSpark. Blackout restrained Starscream from going after it, the pair nearly coming to blows when Blackout launched Scorponok from his chest. Fortunately, Starscream calmed down, and after witnessing Megatron leave the planet himself, the group took on protoform transition forms and followed.

Meanwhile, Starscream crew also went after Optimus Prime's starship in a Decepticon battlecruiser. Just before launch, Blackout listened to Barricade's not-so-quiet concerns that Starscream wasn't telling them everything. Unfortunately for the Decepticons, they were led into a trap by the Autobots, and their ship and Starscream's advance scout Dreadwing was crippled by concussion chain mines. Blackout gave a detailed damage report when ordered but was berated for giving his observation on what had occurred, and was ordered to despatch Scorponok to retrieve Dreadwing.

After making repairs to their ship, the Decepticons followed the AllSpark's trace energy and landed on Mars. The Reign of Starscream 1 There, they destroyed a primitive human rover scout and decided to investigate the nearby third planet of this solar system. Movie Prequel 3. Making planetfall on Earth in Afghanistan in , Blackout attracted the attention of a military vehicle of the local creatures. Witnessing the ease with which Wreckage destroyed the carrier, Starscream pondered that Megatron would have been able to subjugate these beings if he was able to.

Blackout replied that they needed to find out why he hadn't yet. Starscream's unit then attacked the nearby air base where Blackout scanned and adopted the form of an MH Pave Low 'Pave Low' helicopter, then easily hacked into the files of the human computers. Inside, he found files on something called 'Project: Iceman', which he suspected was related to Megatron. After the base's destruction, Blackout and the others split up. When Starscream told the Decepticons that their mission was to find the AllSpark, Blackout reminded Starscream that they must also find Megatron.

Later, after being lured into a trap intended for Bumblebee set by a group of impressively equipped humans, Blackout attacked the organisation's bunker and attempted to hack into their main server, but failed after they disconnected their local systems. The only lead he got was a name Sector Seven. Movie Prequel 4 A few years later, Blackout headed towards Qatar , intent on attacking a military base similar to the first one he and his comrades attacked in hopes that accessing the information there could connect his past findings.

In the aftermath of the battle in Mission City, Sector Seven hauled away Blackout's corpse along with the other Decepticon bodies. The clandestine human organization brought the bodies to a secret facility in the Nevada desert, with the intention of getting every bit of information they could out of the dead Decepticons before they were forced to dump them into the sea.

Alliance 1. Transformers: Beginnings. During the war on Cybertron , Blackout preferred to sow confusion and disarray before he attacked, rather than engage in direct confrontation and risk being killed. He would only go into ground battles under cover of loud noise and pyrotechnics which he himself caused with his devastating sonic shriek emitters. Unfortunately for him, this meant he kept getting stuck leading the first wave of attacks! To protect himself, he used an army of drone troopers presumably Scorponoks to draw enemy fire.

These drones were called "the swarm" and Blackout deliberately encouraged rumours about them so their arrival would strike fear into the hearts of enemies. Blackout Profile Despite being a coward at heart, he began to revel in the chaos and carnage he was causing, even if the odd Decepticon ended up as collateral damage! Jazz V. Half an hour after his death and before his body was dumped in the sea, Blackout was briefly turned into a rampaging zombie by Starscream.

Starscream's Militia. He assaulted an Autobot convoy at Shreveport, Louisiana as part of a general terror campaign. Dark Spark Later, he was a key part in a Decepticon ambush, appearing from nowhere to blankside Autobot ground troops. The Decepticon Who Haunted Himself. He was one of the Decepticon Heartland generals, and had to report the grim news to Starscream of just how badly Stockade had gummed up their advance.

Revolution Part Two By the time the battle reached him in Philadelphia, he was commanding the only Decepticon force left standing. He rejected an offer to defect to Stockade's team, defiantly saying this planet was theirs , and sicced Scorponok on him.

Scorponok failed and Blackout went down. Now he is dead. Revolution Part Three. Blackout, Brawl , and Scalpel were at a sea-side dock when they encountered Ratchet and Ironhide.

The Decepticons attempted to attack, but were held off by an electrical attack courtesy of Ratchet, allowing the Autobots to escape. Ratchet to the Rescue. At some point, Blackout and multiple Autobots and Decepticons traversed dimensions and found themselves on a different Earth , in the distant past. They crossed paths with new Transformer factions, the Maximals and the Predacons , who were engaged in a conflict called the Beast Wars. Tigatron Chapter Blackout joined forces with the Predacons.

Optimus Prime and Blackout. Together with Scorponok, Blackout would seek out and annihilate Megatron's enemies, leaving no witnesses to his passing. He preferred to destroy everything around him because he did not anything that could benefit the enemy to survive his assaults.
