Very strange. It's almost like they only want people to find it who are actually looking hard for it. Humm, I think I'll follow Davemon50's golden rule: if it aint broke dont fix it.

Any ASUS's guy who sheds some light on? Thanks for the really good tutorial anyway. Can someone ASUS please respond to this post with some news for us? I believe they had to make some serious changes to BIOS, to go for ver. Going to install that today, very curious about it. Such a shame they do not comment on all the changes, still better than nothing.

Thanks for the info! Flashed BIOS to ver. After many hours of listening to music and watching movies I can say with certainty that this update has resolved my issue with the excessive heat coming from the audio port side of my GVY. There is little to no heat emanating from there now consistently. Just thought I'd let the forum know.

Hopefully this helps. All times are GMT. The time now is PM. Select the one that is for your laptop from the list below. I have included the links here for direct download for each model. Select each one until you see the firmware file in the window on the right that you copied to the flash drive. Thunderbolt Driver -- Version Uninstall Winflash from the laptop.

Unzip the new Winflash from the link above and install it. Reboot laptop and log back in. Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt Admin to run it, answer yes to continue. Nice little tutorial. I own both the VT and the VY, but they are both running nicely. Since I live by one of life's tenets - "If it aint broke don't fix it" - can you say whether there are any marked improvements that are actually worth running the risk over for either of these laptops? Is it a cumulative BIOS update? Why put the BIOS there? Very strange. It's almost like they only want people to find it who are actually looking hard for it.
